The Science

Every phenomenon on the page is real.

Documented. Peer-reviewed. On the record. The only thing invented is how the pieces connect — and that is the part that keeps you up at night.

Anthony Claudino is the pen name of Len Annetta, Ph.D., a science educator who has spent his career helping people look closely at the world and ask better questions. He writes science fiction with one rule: every phenomenon on the page is real and documented and the science is sound and proven. The only thing invented is how the pieces connect.

Anomaly — Book 1

Infrasound & the Taos Hum

The Science

Infrasound — acoustic waves below 20 Hz, beneath the threshold of human hearing — has been measured at dozens of locations worldwide. The Taos Hum, reported by roughly 2% of the local population since the early 1990s, remains unexplained. Peer-reviewed studies have confirmed the phenomenon is real and measurable. The source has never been identified.

In the Book

In Anomaly, the Taos Hum is not a mystery to be solved — it is a signal. One thread in a four-thousand-year transmission that only makes sense when you see all the threads at once.

The Phobos Monolith

The Science

A monolith-shaped object approximately 85 meters tall was photographed on the surface of Phobos, a moon of Mars, by the Mars Global Surveyor in 1998. NASA scientists including Buzz Aldrin have publicly acknowledged it. The current scientific consensus is that it is a boulder ejected by an impact event. The consensus has not gone unchallenged.

In the Book

In Anomaly, the monolith is not a boulder. It is a marker — the same kind left at the Brown Mountain site, the same kind that generates the Taos frequency. Placed by the same hands. Four thousand years ago.

Many-Worlds Interpretation

The Science

First proposed by Hugh Everett III in 1957, the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics holds that every quantum event causes the universe to branch into multiple parallel realities. It is not fringe physics — it is one of the dominant interpretations of quantum mechanics among working physicists. The math is internally consistent. The branching universes are, by definition, undetectable from within any single branch.

In the Book

In 14, Sam Joseph doesn't discover the many-worlds interpretation in a textbook. He discovers it in the pattern of a number that has followed him since birth. The door he builds in his garage is the part the physicists haven't gotten to yet.

After Burn — Book 3

Near-Death Experience Research

The Science

The AWARE study (AWAreness during REsuscitation), led by Dr. Sam Parnia at the University of Southampton, documented verified out-of-body perceptions in cardiac arrest patients — including accurate descriptions of events that occurred while the brain showed no measurable activity. Subsequent studies have replicated the core finding: something is being perceived during a period when perception should be impossible. The mechanism is unknown.

In the Book

In After Burn, the pilot's training is her greatest liability. She has a framework for every impossible thing she encounters in the valley — and she applies it, methodically, one explanation at a time. The science in this book is not about what she sees. It is about why she keeps explaining it away.

The science doesn't explain it. It just keeps measuring it.

Every book in the Science Faction series is built on documented phenomena that science has measured, recorded, and — in most cases — declined to fully explain. The fiction is the explanation. Whether it's right is the part you have to decide.

Anthony Claudino

Science Faction — where science fact and fiction collide. Every story is grounded in real, peer-reviewed science. The fiction is the part that hasn't happened yet.
